Evidence limitations

Know what the evidence says. Know where it stops.

What Overhyped's free tools, audits, managed monitoring, reports, and coming-soon product can establish—and what remains unmeasured or outside its control.

The short answer

Overhyped reports bounded observations, not guaranteed outcomes.

Public website evidence, sampled AI answers, citations, crawler access, Lighthouse results, analytics, and implementation records answer different questions. They should not be collapsed into one claim about rankings, recommendations, leads, or revenue.

Limits by offer

Each offer has a different evidence boundary.

One Website Checkup

Automated evidence for one public URL and bounded supporting resources.

  • Not a full-site crawl
  • No private Search Console, analytics, CMS, server-log, backlink, conversion, or revenue data
  • Cannot prove indexing, rankings, citations, referrals, or outcomes
  • Optional Review items do not reduce the Search or Agent score
  • Performance can be unavailable independently

Free Website Audit

A person reviews discoverable public pages and emails a prioritized report.

  • Private, login-gated, unpublished, or blocked pages are outside the free review
  • Public evidence cannot establish complete search performance or business impact
  • The 48-hour report identifies findings and next steps; it does not include an automatic implementation commitment

Managed SEO and AEO service

Customized ongoing monthly work with a written scope and agreed implementation ownership.

  • Prompt, platform, market, page, and task quantities are not universal
  • Sampled answers are not a complete AI market view or universal ranking
  • Platform availability, models, interfaces, and displayed sources can change
  • Access and client approval may be required before diagnosis, development, content, or publishing
  • No guarantee of mentions, citations, rankings, traffic, leads, or revenue

AI CMO

A coming-soon product direction, separate from the available service.

  • No finished public dashboard or account
  • No public pricing plan or launch date
  • No fixed final feature set
  • Feedback today helps shape a direction; it is not a purchase promise

Measurement gaps

Similar-looking signals are not interchangeable.

Crawl access is not indexing

A public page can be accessible but not indexed, shown, cited, or recommended. Private platform evidence may be required to know its actual state.

A citation is not a referral

A displayed source URL does not prove anyone clicked it. Referral requires attributable visit evidence from analytics or another agreed measurement source.

A mention is not a recommendation

An entity can appear incidentally, critically, or neutrally. Recommendation requires contextual human review of what the answer actually says.

A before-and-after sample is not causation

Platform and model changes, variability, source changes, location, personalization, and other factors can move an answer without one implemented change causing it.

Public proof boundary

No testimonials, case studies, or biographies without evidence and permission.

Overhyped will not create generic testimonials, invent results, or publish a client logo, quote, report, before-and-after claim, or biography without grounded evidence and the required permission. The current approved roles and public profiles are listed on the About the team page. A representative product report is labelled as a demonstration; it is not presented as a client outcome.

Before acting

Verify intent, access, ownership, and completion evidence.

  • Confirm whether a finding is objective, optional, or dependent on business intent.
  • Check whether public evidence is sufficient or account access is required.
  • Agree who implements, approves, publishes, and verifies each workstream.
  • Preserve intentional SEO, crawler, privacy, and publishing controls.
  • Deploy, inspect the live result, and re-check rather than assuming the change worked.
